I'm just being sarcastic....the firemen that had a brief interaction with a covid pt all got a quick two week paid vacations but no one gives a damn about giving all the staff in the nursing homes two weeks off "out of caution".....because they can't....

those people working with the sick in nursing homes are ESSENTIAL.....and I wish they would be paid that way....

Well, as you probably know, the number one source of funding for nursing homes is Medicaid. That is paid to the owner, who in turn pays the nurses.

Medicaid reimbursement rates barely cover operations costs—that is the problem...even a 10% pay raise for nurses would put many nursing homes out of business.

(I was involved in that business before I retired...)
