But I fully agree with Elon on this. The coronavirus panic is dumb.

If the world economy crashes and burns _everybody_ will be feeling a lot of pain...

According to medical information, neither of them is more dangerous than the other, and they seem virtually indistinguishable, and it is expected that getting one will prevent you from getting the other.

Still possibly heat-related.

“I wonder what will happen when this spreads to the free-defecating homeless population in San Francisco.”

Earlier this week, Tucker Carlson had a GOP activist from Seattle on his show. They talked about the same thing. Obviously, they were both concerned that a virus like this could burn thru a homeless population very badly.

Public health officials, first responders and medical staff would be hard-pressed to deal with something like this - trying to get them to self-quarantine, trying to get them treated, etc.

Money is probably a good way to spread a virus.

People out of town probably should try to pay electronically and keep their card away from their cash.

People might also want a supply of alcohol wipes to wipe off their card before & after it is used.

Ray: I did a post yesterday that I have to repeat:

The five stages of grief as it applies to coronavirus:

https://psychcentral.com/lib/the-5-stages-of-loss-and-grief/

1. Denial—I and nobody I care about are Asian or over eighty years old and only Asians get the disease anyway.

2. Anger—Those Chinese did this to kill us—bioweapon! This is the finger pointing we are seeing from China, Iran and some FR posters!

3. Bargaining—Well maybe we contain this if we stop a few flights, close a few schools, wash our hands.

4. Depression—I saw a post here that some folks were getting depressed about this whole thing. Expect to see more of this.

5. Acceptance—We need to get here. This is nobody’s fault (at least without _solid_ proof). People really do dumb stuff. Most of our leaders are human and make mistakes. The virus is smarter than we are—until we work hard at figuring out what is going on. It is not the end of the world, but it is an ugly mess.

Off its lows. That’s good with me, although I don’t expect the mkt to really rally on a Friday with so much that could happen over the weekend.

We discount China’s results.

But so far, not a single person under the age of 30 has died in South Korea.

And the infection RATE in that cohort is small as well, although I can’t find the numbers now.

I did however stumble over a report from a couple of weeks ago that said, at that time, over half of ALL cases of coronavirus in South Korea were among a single cultish religious sect known as “Shincheonji Church of Jesus”

Cincy:

We just don’t know...

Obama: SARS, Ebola, MSM covers his butt 24/7; even imported non-citizens with Ebola to the US. I think on purpose to infect. Corona??? Coincidental timing?

The coronavirus panic is dumb.

The media bears a large portion of the blame for that, don't you think?

Studies in China (with limited data) describe the "L" strain as more aggressive, comprising 70% of COVID-19 cases. The "L" strain was more prevalent in the early stages of the Wuhan outbreak last year. The "S" strain, less aggressive, comprises 30% of cases.

No info about whether one strain is more deadly than the other. Further study is needed to determine genomic data and mutations.

From the last thread - That’s an idea. Run an iron over the mail. Not on those little plastic address windows though.
