How long ago did your guy call? Knowing investment strategies and how investment managers are trained to go by historical events, I’m not surprised. I’d probably wait awhile to see if things start to improve before I’d buy. I don’t think this country has closed business like this before so stock market history won’t help.

investment advisors are not required to be highly educated and have their guidelines to avoid too much risk. When I administrated our retirement plan, they were paying a couple of guys that really didn’t know what they were doing. I interviewed many people before I decided on a guy from Edward Jones to be our next investment advisor. We talked all the time, sometimes he’d call to get my opinion on something or to give me a tip for my personal investments. I changed our plan so that each employee could choose their investments from the choices we offered. Contrary to what the EJ guy, our attorney and committee members thought was a good investment, I made precious metals a choice. Myself and a few other smart people made a lot of money, and I made sure I brought that to the committee and especially the attorney’s attention, lol.
