This is why we should look at the economic impacts of this.
Wholesale “stay home for two weeks” statements from companies is going to kill productivity.
I wonder what social norms will be changed forever because of this. Working from home will change these measures in ways that we cannot imagine today. Figure those out and you will make millions.
Think of how much the water cooler crap will be cut down. Make-up sales will drop. Commercial real estate prices will drop. Square foot per employees will drop. Distributed network equipment will sky-rocket.
Just a few thoughts of how to really look at this “crisis.”

Not totally sure about the makeup sales dropping.
Anyone who has to videoconference will probably wear makeup if they normally do so at the office.
Some of us would rather NOT scare the coworkers :)
Sales of nice shoes and pants/skirts may drop though, as those aren’t seen on videoconference stuff normally :)
Economic Impact is going to be huge world wide. The companies putting all there eggs in China. The supply chain is broken.
Have been self employed working from home since 1995. All I can say is buckle up kiddies. There will be ups and there will be downs. Hang on to that day job as long as possible. If we are down basically until the summer, worse case scenario, bartering will be king. Save the good barter items you have.
The college basketball Lone Star Conference (men and women teams) is going on this week in TX so will bring large crowds.
