well, if you’re going to be all fatalistic, convinced that containment will ALWAYS fail, that NOBODY can be trusted, then why complain about screening at all? It’s not fair to condemn people who are trying their best with what knowledge they have, and then say, don’t bother, we’re all dead anyway. Where does your argument go from here? except that?
Containment can work—but you have one chance to get it right.
You _have_ to close the borders, in and out, as the _first_ step.
Screening is a “half measure”.
As they said in Breaking Bad, “no half measures”.
The goal is to slow it down. Let it boil slowly.
