It sounds like they _get_ _it_.

Hopefully they find a resting spot that works for everybody.

NC has another confirmed case in Chatham county. Man returned from Italy at the end of March. He experienced flu like symptoms 2 days before getting on the plane. In self-isolation.

Amen, but we are supplied and bugged in. We are prepared to assist our parents, children and grandchildren. Each of them also have prepared to the best ability tho the kids are still having to work and 75% of grandkids still in school. (Thank God for the homeschooled)

This person would have been flying from Boston to Dallas. One of us would have needed to drive 2 hrs to pick this stranger up at the airport. And she was not wanting to come until March 22, to tie up loose ends. Nuts!

There was one another topic on the CNN show I wanted to comment on...and that was Italy.

As veterans here know, Italy is two to three weeks ahead of us, and probably the best apples to apples comparison we have to see where we will be in two to three weeks.

The CNN reporter in Italy walked through what was happening there:

--There is a military quarantine surrounding the original "hot spot". You need papers to prove you have been tested negative to go into the area. It sounded like nobody is allowed to leave the area at all.

--There are a couple more "hot spots" in Italy--similar process.

--Containment has been a total failure. The reporter said Italian authorities could not figure out why "the quarantine had not worked".

--As we have discussed here, discovered cases in Italy continue to double almost every day, and the upper bound seems only to be limited by how quickly they can test people. The cases are in every corner of the country--no pattern.

---

My comment--It is stunning that the Italian leaders thought containment would work--raw stupidity. As we know the virus passes to others in an exponential fashion, so it only takes a week or two to spread widely in the country. By the time the quarantines were in place the horse had left the barn, left the neighborhood, left the city, and started running all over the country.

You can anticipate our local, state, and federal leaders to make similar stupid comments in the coming weeks.
