My dad was an Ed.D., and Professor Emeritus of Education. I grew up in the academic world, and met a lot of ‘doctors’ who weren’t doctors.

People assume Doctors are automatically MDs because MDs are the people with doctoral degrees that they are most likely to have encountered. That said, Whoppie, who fancies herself to be a knowledge person, should know that there are doctors of all kind of stuff. Including Doctors of BS, like the ones we find in fill in the blank studies departments.
