I wish everyone would assume this virus is transmitted as an aerosol. Governments worldwide try to say it is not, infection data says it is. Of course they dont want anyone to think just breathing can infect us.
Measles did. Smallpox.
If we assume the worst, and act accordingly, infections will decrease. Ignore the risks, and the opposite occurs. Cause and effect....
“than I.”
Sorry. Beelzebub made me do it.
Dude.
Dude.
'Reported case numbers' are never going to happen. Well, in history someday, but not now.
'Reported case numbers' broke, broke China's hospital system.
Ours is perhaps 10x better? Which might 'equal' the amount China was never able to treat.
With 'containment' - not actual containment but number containment, our system may actually manage this, while COVID-19 works its way through 96% of the populace with either nothing at all or a short week of fever and a cough.
The key, the key will be avoiding Kirkland hot spots and the subsequent super-spreaders, but after the dumbassery display by first responders there in the Blue State From Hell, one wonders.
In Washington state they have a state lab that can do 100 people a day - but each person gets two tests. I think that the University is about to start the same thing. And the state lab is getting in more equipment to increase capability.
Are you saying they will not report the actual number of positive tests?
We will know one way or the other no later than Thursday.
But you do you.
There is a local youth choir that my oldest daughter participated in for some time while in HS. They take an overseas trip each year to give free concerts and as a fun reward for the singers. Guess where they went this year? Italy. They are all in quarantine right now, including some of the HS teachers that went along as chaperones.
Fortunately they were not in the part of Italy with the major outbreak.
I only thought of it because I remember that the Chinese are really superstitious about that.
That sounds right for one state.
Every state should be testing in a similar fashion by tomorrow.
Absolutely nothing as long as all those freed people do like everyone else and go to the nearest shrine and lick it, then go to a mullah with a bottle of water and ask him to bless it by spitting in it.
That article has some flaws that were pointed out several days ago.
The only panic I see is from the ‘but flu’ crowd.
I wish everyone would assume this virus is transmitted as an aerosol. Governments worldwide try to say it is not, infection data says it is.
we need to assume the worst...for whatever reason the Chinese went nuts....
here we look in the textbooks about other coronavirus and apply them to this one.....then in the next sentence say that theres a lot we don’t know about this virus
Wow! Close call. My husband said there was a major rumor at a local high school that the GA kids related to a case here (man returned from Italywent to their school. Turns out to be false, they were homeschooled (thankfully!) lol
Paul is a deadman, miss him miss him
(IIRC from I’m So Tired)
I hardly post anything. I have never written anything the least bit alarming. I think the most controversial piece of advice Ive written is to buy an extra can of beans if you are stuck in your house.
Not quite sure where you are reading the panic. Its not in these threads.
They said 31 facilities went online Thursday, and over 100 next week so 3100-10,000 testing capability in the US by next week
“Would someone help me understand that if this virus is less virulent and has a lower lethality than the flu why I should be overly concerned?”
I tried telling the Mayor of Wuhan that and he shut down the city anyway. Then I called Bejing, Shanghai, etc. Nobody believed me. Destroying their economy over a tiny case of the sniffles!
Wow. They were stacked to the ceiling in ours last week. And you know how high the ceilings are.
The funniest thing...diarrhea is only presented in something like 2% of the cases.
