You are missed, lyby.
Our school just lowered the passing math grade to 40%.
#980 Alrighty then. Looks like we have a bunch of future Investment Bankers and Financial Advisors in the making.
What could go wrong.

SAD.
Another Math teacher and I were recently discussing a comment made by a 7th-grade student: “I don’t study. It’s too hard and takes up too much of my time.”
He’s one who still does not know basic multiplication facts. Yet, 7th-grade standards require that I teach factoring of algebraic expressions and how to apply that skill to finding - for example - a missing side length in a rectangle when given the perimeter.
He is also identified for receiving special ed. services. (Although I am his teacher, I am not considered a “need-to-know” entity of his disability because that is confidential information.)
BTW, this student creates daily disruption in all classes. But, he is sp.ed., so discipline beyond the classroom teacher is nonexistent. Contact the parent, you say? Schedule a conference? HA. The phone numbers are either wrong, disconnected, or the voice mail has not yet been set up.
He expects he will “pass” because he is accustomed to to just that. He points out, “I have an IEP. You can’t fail me.” And that is exactly what will happen...
