How about the passengers on the plane that brought the Rhode Island students home? They should all be tested!

In my opinion they need to stop all non-essential air travel, as well as limit some travel to areas in the US where there are clusters, like WA, except for essential deliveries and such.

I think we ought to find or come up with a design, sewing pattern. [for homemade masks]

I've heard that one bra makes two masks. I'm just sayin'.

Dr. Gottlieb preparing people for shutdowns.

Scott Gottlieb, MD
@ScottGottliebMD
We’re going to very soon see parts of this country like Northern California and Washington State adopt mitigation steps that - at time - could be disruptive to routine lives in local regions. These efforts will be be essential toward slowing spread and preventing wider epidemic

I have two drawers of tea towels. Fabric from the 1950s to today. The weave is too wide. A kleenex would be better. Did it say how many layers of tea towels?

Just read an article on making a mask from 3 layers of t-shirt fabric. IMO, again, too loose a weave and it stretches making the holes even larger.

Sort of a pattern. Doesn’t look effective.

How many flights has the plane done since bringing in the RI students? That’s the problem. How about all those passengers. A bit too late for that. We have floating and flying petri dishes.

Since we are on the topic of diy... I have some aloe vera gel and 70% rubbing alcohol. I thought about combining to make hand sanitizer but I don’t know the ratio should be. Or would combining dilute the alcohol too much?

Just two guys in surgical type suits and everyone else in their daily wear. China is cremating bodies but not Iran.

Well, now we know why FEMA has stacks of coffins lined up for acres.

Latest "advice" from WHO:

Recommendations for international traffic

"WHO continues to advise against the application of travel or trade restrictions to countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks.

In general, evidence shows that restricting the movement of people and goods during public health emergencies is ineffective in most situations and may divert resources from other interventions. Furthermore, restrictions may interrupt needed aid and technical support, may disrupt businesses, and may have negative social and economic effects on the affected countries. However, in certain circumstances, measures that restrict the movement of people may prove temporarily useful, such as in settings with few international connections and limited response capacities."

Sickening.

If I were the governor I would shut down the whole state, close everything but essential services. Wouldn’t be popular, but who cares.

I’d love to tell the communist slugs what they can do with their advice.

Got their “virus in every pot” didn’t they? No one will suffer unequally, even though first world countries were the best bet for aiding third world. Now we’re going to be up to our eyeballs fighting it ourselves.
