...General Henry Knox, the son of Irish immigrants, helped lead General George Washington’s famous crossing of the Delaware River...

Actually, he was a passenger....and a fat one at that. George Washington reportedly told him, "Shift that fat ass, Harry, but slowly, or you'll swamp the damned boat.!!!"

Knox WAS a brilliant artilleryman, and the feats of movement are reknowned today.

Look don't get me wrong, everyone should be proud of their ancestry, but when the hell are we going to just have AMERICAN history month(actually should be everyday every month)? Why do we continue to have hyphenated Americans?

Wow.

This mick thanks you, Mr President. And I’ll say an extra prayer for you at mass tonight.

The Irish immigrants and their descendants love this country and have contributed immensely to her foundation.

We are proud of our heritage, and admit our faults. We welcome all to share in that pride while proclaiming the greatness of the USA.

Very few pure Irish in the US, except people fresh off the boat.

“How the Scots-Irish Came to America (And What They Brought With Them)
S

In the summer of 1718, five ships of Scots-Irish immigrants from Ulster arrived in Boston to an uncertain welcome. The Puritan leaders sympathized with their fellow Protestants who also endured Anglican intolerance. But the newcomers came from an impoverished land, and many Puritans questioned whether they could support themselves......snip”

During Irish-American Heritage Month, we celebrate the countless achievements of Irish Americans and recognize the remarkable contributions they have made to our Nation’s character, culture, and prosperity...

And

Irish Americans have played a critical role in our Nation’s history and have made significant contributions to our military, government, and economy...

"The Revolution Happens Here." at "The Hub"

wiki: "The Charitable Irish Society of Boston organized the first observance of Saint Patrick's Day in the Thirteen Colonies in 1737."

hub:

Meaning "center of interest or activity or importance" first recorded 1858 in writings of Oliver W. Holmes Sr.["האב"], and originally especially of Boston.

Boston State-House is the hub of the solar system. [Holmes, "Autocrat of the Breakfast Table"]

***

According to popular legend and some sources, the stone is the geographic center of Boston, as it was used in colonial times by surveyors as the zero point for outlying milestones showing the distance to Boston, analogous to the London Stone,[1][5] but this is almost certainly not true[2] – there are no contemporary records indicating this, the 1767 Milestones stretching from Boston to Springfield, Massachusetts are not based on the Boston Stone, and the Old State House would have been a more likely center point for measuring distances to the city.[2] 19th-century advertising for the Marshall House inn describes the original inscribing of the Boston Stone's plinth, and perhaps its attribution as Boston's zero milestone, as an early 19th-century advertising ploy.

"The Revolution Happens Here." at "The Hub" (simple meaning)

It's the same with the Megillah. All those seemingly random details turned out to have been an highly orchestrated plot that only looked like a jumble of disconnected data points along with the infuriating presence of one Mordecai the Jew who just sat there in the midst of all the activity.

It all turned to the contrary for the killjoys.

The Megillah is all about the revealing of the hidden - the "Big Dig" so to speak. [המגילה] = 93

wiki: "the Big Dig was a megaproject in Boston that rerouted the Central Artery of Interstate 93 (I-93), the chief highway through the heart of the city...
