WASHINGTON - As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to spread across the globe and countries are reporting new confirmed cases, the United States is closely monitoring and updating travel advisories.
The State Department says when it comes to issuing a travel alert for Americans traveling abroad, it takes into account health risks, including current disease outbreaks or a crisis that disrupts a countrys medical infrastructure, as well as the issuance of a travel notice by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
There are four travel advisory levels: Level 4do not travel; Level 3reconsider travel; Level 2exercise increased caution; and Level 1exercise normal precautions.

All I want is an up to date list, from the people paid to assess the risks, of where I shouldnt travel, which for me are level 3 and 4 any reason, and level 2 Covid-19 related. Some of these level 2 precautions for non-health reasons seem ridiculous. UK, Netherlands, Belgium?
I didn’t need the Trump-hating State Department to tell me all was find with going to Asia this month (Feb) as we had planned - I was able to tell JUST THE OPPOSITE from watching what was REALLY going on.
My wife and I spent the past 3 years going to virtually every corner of the planet (other than ANZUS), but at this point, I won’t even step through TSA to go to Atlanta (not that anyone ever should). For us, now is the time to hunker-down and take our travel money for prepping, which we’ve done, and enjoy our new ‘lifestyle’, which we are doing.
Level 4: Do Not Travel
COVID-19 outbreak related updates: China, Iran.
Other non-coronavirus risk indicators, including terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict: Iraq, Mali, Central African Republic, Venezuela, Yemen, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan, North Korea, Libya, North Korea, Afghan.
Level 3: Reconsider Travel
COVID-19 outbreak related updates: South Korea, Mongolia.
Other non-coronavirus risk indicators, including terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict: Pakistan, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger, Nigeria, Lebanon, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Sudan, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua.
No Go: Cesspool sanctuary cities and states... California, San Francisco, etc.
Phew! Glad I got in my Trip to Italy in January! I read about this virus for the first time in Atlanta on our layover to Rome.
Is it racist to consider heavily populated Asian cities as potentially more dangerous than others; incidence of their possible travel to and from higher level 3 and 4 countries? It sounds racist, but might be a prudent consideration.
The travel advisory for the United Kingdom doesnt include the coronavirus. I dont care what else it contains, Im going!
You could just see the royals in Canada and be safe.
Don’t care what the travel advisory says, I’m staying home.

Other non-coronavirus risk indicators, including terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict: Iraq, Mali, Central African Republic, Venezuela, Yemen, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan, North Korea, Libya, North Korea, Afghan.
Level 3: Reconsider Travel
COVID-19 outbreak related updates: South Korea, Mongolia.
Other non-coronavirus risk indicators, including terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict: Pakistan, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger, Nigeria, Lebanon, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Sudan, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua.
