equally weird.... Pence I get but it seems hypocritical of Trump involving himself. Sorry, I have no issue with religious people and their customs, I just hate political photo ops.

I understand.
When GHWB was getting ready to start Gulf War I, he was nervous about it. Well he called Dr. Billy Graham over to the WH to pray over him, all very hush hush private meeting you know. Some reporter saw Billy Graham leaving later and reported it to the utter delight and approval of the faithful (no surprise there eh?) Well the story played so well to the base that he then called back the good preacher and did it all again with the entire cabinet, attendance required and all the cameras present. You might think we should have seen through this, but everybody believed that Bush was perfectly sincere about it at least the first time and did not mind the ...uh.. reenactment for the cameras. Here is how it got read, Bush got caught praying, and then showed that he was not ashamed that he was doing it. Dr. Graham confirmed that interpretation, or so I heard

As to Trump I think everybody (the religious everybody, I mean) knows that he is a little superstitious about it, but nobody doubts his sincerety. As far as the visuals are concerned, Trump seems to be a master of the highest order. Considering the target audience the picture is perfect. I mean I’ve been in these kind of things so many times I can see how it all must have happened. Is somebody training him in this stuff?

This is a man who once made the mistake of saying “Two Corinthians” instead of “second” Corinthians, a mistake made by no believer in the history of the church since the Apostle penned the epistle! But now, he’s not only NOT making those kind of mistakes, he seems to know exactly what to say and do in these situations.

When I was ordained, they “laid hands” on me. Sonny Perdue, now Sec of Agriculture was present as a Deacon also participated.
