Checking in from WA state. Went to walmart for some automotive items, listening to a press conference held by local DOH officials talking about the latest. Thought I’d add to ourinventory of hand sanitizers. So did a lot of other folks. Aisle was crowded and they were sold out. No hand sanitizer at all.
Hand sanitizer sold out at the 2 stores I checked today too. Hubby went to one more for light bulbs and got the past 3 on the shelf. He’s getting filet tonight. Lol.
I lived in Tacoma for a decade. I bet that the Tacoma and Lakewood Walmarts were crazy today. Ditto for the Tacoma Costco.
No hand sanitizer on Amazon, either. They may be effective, need 70% alcohol and have to keep hands wet at least one minute. Thats 3 pumps each use by my trials, so they stuff goes quick.
What did DOH conference say?
No hand sanitizer at all.
Went to Wally World yesterday here in the NorCal Foothills...no hand santizer...didn’t look for masks...Lot of people, but not overcrowded like when the monthly check comes in...probably buzzing today. We are fine if we have to stay. Nice full pantry...our own water well...have a couple of masks that use disposible filters. Have plans from CDC for making own masks and have a boat load of material because we tie dye...
Our worry is the fair season. We are set to leave in a couple of weeks for our Spring run...either the fairs get cancelled, or no one shows up...Would rather stay home in that case than not make any money...because it costs a lot of money to get down there (To AZ)...
We will have to play in by ear. Can’t fret about something we can’t change. Our goal is to lie low up here in the hills and see what happens.
I am not dismissing this threat....I know that flu kills more people...The issue that concerns me...besides the economic issues, is reinfection. That is a bothersome issue...Being in our 60s and all of that with the usual problems people have in their 60s...
As for my advice to anyone...Keep Calm, Live Life, but be Smart.
