Emerald Robinson Latin cross
@EmeraldRobinson
This is a very important thread for public health officials & the Trump Admin to consider: 1 in 11 coronavirus patients are in ICU in Italy right now.

Northern Italy ran out of ICU beds in 5 days.

They are: rehiring retired medical staff, expanding bed capacity, etc.

Our last walmart run (in the store) was Tuesday.

We don’t plan to go back in walmart for a while until we see how things will resolve.

Pickup it will be from now on. Not perfect mind you, but for non perishables that can be left in the car for a few days to de-germ (probably not a bad idea during flu season anyways) you limit your contact to the person(s) who bring it out and hopefully use lysol wipes to wipe down the pen/stylus/ipad thingie they use.

Ditto kroger.

Our Walmart here in NC is the same. I’ve found our grocery store is much better stocked for all of those items. It was insanely busy for a Sunday morning though, so I’m not sure how long that will last.

The Tucson acupuncture clinic I visit posted the following notice yesterday:
In response to recent public health concerns, [the clinic] is implementing an illness policy. Please review this information. We appreciate your support in keeping our community safe.

Please allow 24 hours after the resolution of the following symptoms before returning to the clinic:

If you are currently experiencing the symptoms of a cold/upper respiratory infection, we ask that you bring a mask to wear during your treatment. We are currently unable to offer you one ourselves as masks are out of stock everywhere right now. If you would prefer not to wear a mask or unable to obtain one, we will ask you to reschedule your appointment and return when you are well.

We never charge for appointments missed due to illness. Thank you for your cooperation!

This is inadequate if people actually have COVID-19, but it's a beginning.
