It enhanced his scientific cred.
Assess this, and tell me if it is a major screw up:
So it is almost two weeks since the CDC sent out defective test kits, and they still haven't fixed them, and only 4 states have any testing capacity.
The plan was for states to test people who had flu symptoms, but tested negative for the flu. Totally good plan. But it still hasn't started because there are no test kits. It is so bad Hawaii is trying to buy test kits from Japan. The CDC has only test 461 people in 8 weeks. Korea is testing 10,000 people a day.
Pandemic my butt. It is not reported on the continent of Antarctica yet. Lol.
That article is dated Feb. 13 so it is two weeks old. And there are still only 15 cases in the U.S.
Stopping the flights from China early was brilliant. But, maybe because he has been out of the country, we totally lost that aggressive, proactive sense of action. He should be firing the head of the CDC for botching the test kits. How about declaring an emergency, and putting the army on the border with Mexico to stop any sick border crossers. What are we doing to stop people from Korea, Japan, and Italy from coming back to the country sick? How about an emergency order to get drug manufacturing back in the US. And mask manufacturing. This crisis totally aligns with Trump goals and policies, but not enough is happening.
Yeah, but they aren’t testing, so you can’t find the cases. Like the guy today in California sat for a week with the CDC denying a test.
Death Camps. Truth.
Look up “endemic”.
Until the Wuhan virus is, you can’t really compare them.
Right. It’s still only epidemic in one province of China not the whole country.
“Right. Its still only epidemic in one province of China not the whole country.”
Correct. And it appears to be really bad there in Hubei. Fortunately they closed it off fairly early and have (apparently) pretty much contained it in the rest of the country by imposing some really drastic measures. All good on that. It isn’t a pandemic, yet, and hopefully it does not become one. That will be due to fast action by Trump and other world leaders and honestly, the Chinese deserve some credit there as well even though they deserve pretty much all the blame for this in the first place.
But I certainly don’t trust the Chinese numbers. Too much evidence points to massive deceit in Wuhan, at least, and they have a history.
I see what’s going on in Italy, Korea and Japan and expect we’re going to see outbreaks elsewhere. Hopefully we can contain them as they occur - it is easier to put out brushfires than conflagrations.
Don’t panic. Prepare and be vigilant.
In certain quarters there has been a craving for a “pandemic” for decades. I’m not sure why unless it is just another path to assumption of total control. SARS was hyped to the max by the wannabe totalitarians in America.
AIDS as a phenomenon is in part fictionalized by including in it all the odd diseases that have been killing sodomites since there were sodomites and by including many of the endemic diseases in Africa that are rare elsewhere. Note that the presence of HIV is not even a requirement for a diagnosis of AIDS in Africa where it is officially the most rampant.
.
“You forgot to add we only have 15 cases in the US.”
Fox is reporting 60 US cases.
82,000 cases worldwide, 2,811 deaths
47 countries with confirmed cases.
What is the point of debating the label? Do they just want to cause widespread panic?
What is the difference between an epidemic and a pandemic?
Epidemic: An outbreak of disease that attacks many peoples at about the same time and may spread through one or several communities.
Pandemic: When an epidemic spreads throughout the world. Infectious diseases: Diseases that you can catch. They are communicable.
