I agree my statement was strong and not backed up with facts, but I don’t think any facts are even out there as to how to avoid the threat. Obviously it’s better not to eat food that was just handled by others...but I still think that humanity would have been wiped out long ago if it spreading viruses was that easy. Anyway, appreciate the comment.

Those statements are incorrect. Food handling is subject to state and local regulations, at a minimum.
At the McDonalds I stopped in this morning, all employees working around food, including the people scooping fries into containers were using gloves.
