Exactly. When my father passed away, we had talked about his will shortly before his death. He was a retired Veteran so certainly didn't have Kirk Douglas money, but he had always pinched his pennies and had a pretty sizable savings. I'm an Accountant and make a decent upper middle class income, so I specifically asked him to leave my share to other family members that actually needed it. What's funny though is even after 19 years, I still get comments like, "You and your dad were always so close, what happened at the end that made him cut you out of his will?"
It’s my personal experience that if you truly want to see the ugliest side of your relatives, watch what happens when someone in the family dies and leaves behind anything of value.
