My daughter is a paramedic. Her husband is a state trooper.
He will go to work if the brimstone is falling from the heavens.
She....will call in sick. Only after grabbing enough IV needles and bags for her family.
She is sick of sick people already.....

I did a ‘ride along’ with the local police when I worked doing some software for them.
The 8-hour day was over in a flash- I can see why some of them get a rush from it.
When we went for lunch he had a sugary cinnamon bun and added maple syrup to it- I would have gotten diabetes from eating just one- he had 2.
It is a very different existence.

I certainly understand. I know some people like your son in law, they are going to go. I think there are more people who won't go.
I think I would be somewhere in the middle. If all proper protocols were being followed, then I'd go. If they were short changing anything, I'd be very comfortable with telling them no, I'm not coming in.
