Bah! More panic-inducing is the belief that the government is lying. China can stand that, they expect it, we can’t.

My point is that it's here. There was travel for weeks if not month between China and the US before corona was a blip on anyone's radar screen.

Still, there’s more panic to be caused by lack of trust than by useful stats.
Anywhere from 20 to a 100 thousand ‘suspected’ cases wouldn’t surprise me. Or be threatening. Our system can handle it.
But not having info does threaten me. CDC is doing a terrible job on many levels. Maybe another department would do better.
