Cher’s father was Armenian, her mother claimed Cherokee ancestry, among six or seven others backgrounds.Technically, it was Cher who claimed her mother had Cherokee ancestors, though none have been found in her families' genealogy.
It wasn't until Half Breed was released that Cher started claiming to be part Indian.
