I don’t hate on EV’s but they are very costly and don’t provide the needed results to everyone.

My wife and I recently drove to Orlando fro Memphis. That is simply not possible without many stops in an EV.

I do live less than 10 miles from where I work. An EV would work very well for me, for a work vehicle.

This is true for most of the strictly EVs. Speaking from my personal choice, I've got the Kia Niro PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid EV) and it is doing the job for me. It has a ~30 mile battery-only range and can recharge in 6.5 hours (110v) at a cost of $0.85. The 11.3 gallon tank is good for 500+ miles at steady cruise, getting gas-only 46 mpg. In combined mode, the battery gets boosted in coasting mode and the mpg is upped into low 50s.

I love having a full charge when the area has a sudden $0.25 price boost. With the ease of charging, I can wait-out a fill-up until the price drops. On longer trips, I don't have to worry about a charging station, I just pull up to the 'regular' pump!

Yes, EVs are not for everyone. Wish people would realize that before blasting ‘em for not matching their pet special case.

The “costly” is basically paying all expenses up front. Total cost of ownership is significantly less than gas-powered vehicles, alas you have to pay most of that TCO to get the car.

Orlando to Memphis in a default Tesla would take 5 stops along the way, total 15 hours, varying 20-40 minutes per stop (easy to do the same in a regular car).

I don’t hate them either but they aren’t a panancea and i don’t worship them like some here and obvious other places do.

Performace goes down in very cold or very hot weather.

They have started on fire while charging.

They have started on fire just parked in a parking spot.

People that have gotten into accidents in them have not been able to get out of the cars and have died.

Neighborhood infrastructures are not built to handle a significant number of people charging ev’s overnight, the transformers are undersized and rely on low overnite electricity usage to cool down.

Ev folks kid themselves that theycdirve clean vehicles when we know where the power comes from - coal and natural gas and nuclear plants.

EVs are not towing and hauling vehicles, and often come with warnings expressing this.

They also kid themselves that they ignore the damaging and dangerous processes and pollution/wastes that are created up front to build the large lithium ion battery packs for these vehicles.

All vehicles have pros and cons, don’t complain that most people don’t gush over ev’s when gas vehicles offer many significant advantages over them, still.
