I recall that Zimmerman sued NBC (over the doctored 911 tape), but some Democrat judge in Florida tossed out the lawsuit. Did that ever make me angry when I first heard about that one.

Yep, the old circular logic that Zimmerman was a public figure (which NBCs coverage made him), and then relied on the flawed ruling that public figures essentially can be libeled and slandered at will.
