Coronavirus: 26 people quarantined in Westchester after returning from China outbreak areas
David Robinson, The Journal NewsPublished 4:50 p.m. ET Feb. 18, 2020
There are 26 people in Westchester County being quarantined after returning from recent travel to areas affected by the coronavirus outbreak in China, authorities said Tuesday.
None of the Westchester residents, who are being voluntarily quarantined mostly in their homes, have shown symptoms of the coronavirus, called COVID-19, according to Dr. Sherlita Amler, county health commissioner.
“These people are not ill, but we still have to monitor them,” Amler said Tuesday, during a news conference.
Similar public-health quarantines of travelers are underway in other communities statewide and across the country. The people will be monitored by county health officials for the 14 days since they departed from the locations affected by coronavirus, Amler said.
Well, what could go wrong, Sherlita????
Let’s see....
*None are showing symptoms....really, Sherlita???
*Self-quarantining, at home
*Only going to be quarantined for 14 days....which includes the days since they departed areas affected by the coronavirus

Hubby and I were scratching our heads, on that one, too.
It is important to know that these people being released from quarantine pose no health risk to the surrounding community, or to the communities they will be returning to," McDonald said.

Real easy. Run out of test kits. Say you went, two weeks or two days with no new infections. Viola. Open for business. They are following the North Korea model. North Korea has not had one single corinavirus infection, you know.
Huh.
Yep. Sure sounds like it.
New numbers out...
There are currently 75,129 confirmed cases worldwide, including 2,007 fatalities.

The https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 map is showing 29 confirmed cases in the US?
The 15 cases plus 14 cases among the cruise evacuees
I never have a good feeling about that. More than one person will get cabin fever and just make a "quick trip to the store".
Need to make it known that they will be financially and criminally liable if their ‘quick trip to the store’ results in anyone else becoming infected.
Ahh, thank you.
On the woai/channel 4 noon news from San Antonio, a bridal shop owner was interviewed. She said that her business is being affected as a lot of bridal fashions come from Wuhan and China. Said her suppliers are saying summer (hopefully).
Lot of angry Bridezillas?
Agreed. I think it was difficult to hide these new cases from the statistics. I think the numbers are far greater in the US.
