I prayed a lot when she worked there.

My SIL left for Seattle today and my daughter follows tomorrow. He has quarterly meetings for MicroSoft to attend though he works from home here in Chicagoland otherwise. 7 days of meetings and 3 days of skiing. In the past 2 weeks they have been to NYC, FL and Nashville for seminars both medical and computer related. They worry me all the time.

She went with me for my hearing aides today. I will get them next week my son will take me. Ouch! They had 3 groups Excellent, Premium and Standard. I went with the Premium Phonak brand with the charger. She said the Excellent ($750 more per hearing aid) was way over kill for most of the needs of everyone and the Standard would be useless for me. When all was said and done I paid $2,750 per hearing aid, $375 for fitting and $300 for the charger since they are rechargeable not battery. The total was $6,125 and my insurance picked up $2,500, so I paid $3,625 today for them. This did not include any doctor visits or hearing tests. Dang it’s expensive to keep hearing and seeing anymore.

Also Rusty my friend’s daughter said in Austin they were out of sanitizer, wipes, TP and a lot of diapers at her local Costco. She was fit to be tied. Her mother and her Air Force pilot husband have been telling her for over a week to stock up on some extras like TP, a little food, etc. They also shut down a huge mall in San Antonio that the accidently released postive CV woman went too North something or other. Abbott had a fit about it I heard that she was released and went off on the CDC.

Stylin19a I have AT&T coming tomorrow morning as my interent is not working but here and there for a bit now. I am using my Verizon Jetpack MI-FI right now. I am ready to scream.

kiddo, you’ve been through the wringer lately.
A lot of others here also...yet you all handle things with grace, humor, and humility.
You all are my heroes.

wow...sorry to hear about your hearing troubles and hearing aids expense.
I had been fitted for Hearing Aids by the VA in 2012. 60% loss in each ear.
Over time, the hearing aids got whacked.

I went to this place https://www.mdhearingaid.com/ and the hearing aids were better than what the VA prescribed.

Eventually, the VA said they would replace my broken ones. They gave me new ones, fixed and let me keep the broken ones.
The MD Hearing aids are still better. I believe they could tune them from my most recent tests.

Dollar Stores around here are still ok, though people are getting wise. TP & Purell going like hotcakes.

Sorry about your internet. My frustration is only with my access to FR.

and yet...we’re still here

FreeRegards

Sorry you had to pay so much for hearing aids but I’m glad you got them.
Yes, Abbott was mad, I posted his remarks earlier. I dont blame him. I went to HEB yesterday, I bought more than what I need but didn’t go overboard. For years I always had about 3 months supply but since I moved here I’ve slipped, mostly because I have nowhere to put things. Maybe I’ll go back and get some more paper goods and a few canned goods. I dont know if I should worry about water as I get it at the filling station and I’m sure the supply chain hasn’t had problems?

Actually I think you are really doing an excellent job getting things done. It just probably seems to be going slow. I’m anxious to see how your aids work for you. Please keep us posted.

Also, a lot of stuff in HEB comes from Mexico, I figure unless they get worse than we are the border will stay open.

Smart idea to get rechargeable batteries. I didn’t know they had those. I hear the batteries are terribly expensive so you probably saved yourself some money either. You’re right, it is expensive to see in here. My glasses I’ve always been about $1000 each. Can’t wait to have cataract surgery in two months, then the cost of my glasses goes down! And hopefully I’ll see well enough to actually find my glasses lol!

Now if my posts are not making any sense it could be the dictation system or it could be my eyes. My ghosting is so bad that all of the letters are doubled. I don’t know if I’ll make it two months, half probably end up being grounded for a while, I have fast growing cataract
