You are fortunate to have your conservative mom. My parents were far left, and when they found out I had voted for Reagan they couldn’t understand it, they were heartbroken. They tried for years to save me, but finally gave up.

I had the opposite I know.
My parents said,your first vote should count and it was for Ronald Reagan for President.
Been a conservative forever! ;)
