They simply don’t care. I have a friend who cannot understand why people complain about taxes. She says she likes her roads and schools and libraries. As if the only choices are communism or anarchy. I guess they accept that if 5% goes to what they like, the destruction caused by the other 95% is just the price one pays.

The amount of money squandered or worse, and the intrusion needs to be stopped. It seems to me like saying, “yeah, they cut off my leg, but look, I got a birthday cupcake.”

Personally, I’d be in favor of a more pay-as-you-go system. Slash taxes, and pay for what you want/use.

The state and local taxes find the roads, libraries and schools, for the most part.
The constitution doesn’t give the federal government authority over healthcare, education, welfare, etc., but they took it anyway and charge us for it, most of which goes to administration.
