The best that can be said for Chris Wray is that he probably serves only as the necessary FBI seat warmer and figure head, for the sake appearances, while Barr and Durham engage in their Real and sprawling criminal investigation and running it out of the Justice Department, under that umbrella and not anywhere under the direction of the Bureau.
That Barr defended Wray and his goofy 40 “points of Light”, for tightening up the FBI leadership, seemed to be Barr casually and simply securing a holding pattern on the FBI. Independently, Wray is proving to be no ball of fire, himself, which may be by design, exactly what Barr needs for the ongoing Swamp cleaning.
If Wray were swampy, he wouldn’t be there, would he? He seems otherwise a useless tool on his own. “Bless his heart.”
His dullness was, at first, suspicious. Maybe I was too hard on him and he is the willing whipping boy for pacifying congressional oversight committees?
It’s the smorgasbord of topics that makes this thread such fun.
