I watched from CSpan. Saw one wild-eyed Pelosi answering that it was the “courteous thing to do”, which made no sense, considering she had already dissed The POTUS, by ditching the formal and traditional introduction made by all Speakers, ie, “My high privilege and great honor .....” she proudly *bitchplaced those words.
One could think she just elected to ignore the question and preferred instead to highlight the POTUS “failure” to shake her bloody claw paw. (Which I believe was not the question.)
To me it looked like (on CSpan) that Pelosi called the House to order and Republicans ignored her, continuing in jubilant conversation while moving to depart. The DEMOCRATS were already long gone. Pelosi left in a huff instantly, when they failed to comply. It remained noisy when a defeated Hoyer remained to fill in for the demented-appearing Pelosi and complete her job, to call for the speech to be placed in the congressional record.
And it was such a difficult decision for him to vote guilty, he lost so much sleep, and he prayed so hard....that he contacted specific media to provide interviews in advance of his speech, so they could release it afterward...right...
