If you take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry out of North Cape May, you can see Cape Henlopen on the Delaware side after going a few miles out into the bay. It's a very nice ride, by the way, a great way to bypass the urban areas if you're driving south from New Jersey.

But Slaughter Beach is a bit out of your line of sight from the ferry.

You should mention that if you are gonna take the ferry you may need reservations. Been with out b4. Not fun driving back around to get where you are going. But yeah it’s a great ferry and fun.
