I think the issue is that due to the lack of testing kits...most cases are not being counted and deaths are being attributed to sever pneumonia, etc, instead of the “new coronavirus.” This means that actual cases and deaths, as well as recoveries are being severely under reported, whether by design or inability.

You have never been able to trust the Chinese to tell the truth about pathogens in the past so until we see the survivability numbers outside China it is all pretty much speculation. I have been surprised at how much they are sharing this time around now that it is out of control, but doubt we have anything close to real numbers.

One of the posted sites above had a number go 56 dead and 52 recoveries. A 56/52 death to life ratio is horrible. But like I said, we do not know the numbers who got sick and did not seek help and survived.

To get a much closer number we need to see this thing run its course outside of China, sadly.
