Guangdong Province requires that masks be worn in public places and offenders should be dealt with according to law

(AFP profile picture) The Guangdong Health Commission issued a notice today (26th), in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the implementation of control measures to wear masks in public places in Guangdong Province, including shopping malls, parks, scenic spots, etc. until further notice.

The notice pointed out that operators and managers of public places should require people who enter their places to wear masks before they can enter their public places of operation, and set clear reminders for wearing masks at the entrance. For those who do not wear masks to enter the place, Dissuade them; report to the relevant authorities in accordance with the laws and regulations to those who do not listen to dissuasion, and let them handle them according to law.

In addition, anyone who obstructs emergency response staff from performing their duties will violate the “People’s Republic of China Public Security Management Penalty Law”, which constitutes a violation of public security management and will be punished according to law. If it constitutes a crime, criminal liability will be investigated according to law.

The scope of implementation is as follows:

(1) hotels (hotels), inns, guest houses, restaurants, cafes, bars, tea houses;

(2) public baths, barber shops, and beauty shops;

(3) theater, karaoke hall, video hall (room), amusement hall (room), dance hall, concert hall;

(4) stadiums (halls), swimming pools (halls), parks, scenic spots, religious sites, commercial streets, pedestrian streets;

(5) shopping malls (shops) and bookstores;

(6) Waiting room, waiting room (machine, boat) room, highway service area, public transportation (including network taxi, taxi);

(7) exhibition halls, museums, art galleries, and libraries;

(8) Public places where other crowds gather.
