This is true. A few years ago there was an earthquake in China that killed a lot of people, and the Chinese government basically pretended it didn’t happen.
But now China is going public, quarantining whole cities without even trying to hide it. That worries me.
I have read that 6-8 people went public on Wuhan initially and were arrested.
