Women’s Olympic qualifiers moved from China amid coronavirus fears
Sydney will now replace the Chinese city of Nanjing as the host of a women’s Olympic qualifying tournament next month due to the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus, according to sporting officials.
The Chinese Football Association (CFA) informed the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) that it is withdrawing as host because of the “current situation” of the coronavirus outbreak, AFC said in a statement on its website.
The venue had already been switched from Wuhan, where the disease originated, to Nanjing.
The Group B matches — involving Taiwan, Thailand, China and Australia — will now happen in Sydney, AFC added.

Wife was in Home Depot this morning. Said the customers in front of her were buying up the last remaining boxes of masks. She overheard heard them telling the cashier that they would be shipping the masks to family in China. I imagine the factories are already cranking up to replace inventory.
I know, right? It’s like the health agencies are completely in the dark waiting on protocol from the WHO, and the WHO is lagging behind as always. I just read an announcement from WHO that all health journal news will go to them first, and they will then allow them to be released the public. So, they want to control the info.
I do not trust them, by the way. Some of these organizations are heavily influenced if not run by communists. It’s possible they may believe no country should have an advantage or head start in fighting a pandemic. Just my tinfoil theory anyway.

The 2020 Summer Olympics are in Tokyo, not Beijing. However, the 2022 Winter Olympics ARE in Beijing.

They are looking to get the first look. They know what’s what in their world. There are all sorts of IP rights and contracts that are usually considered. This move gives more people access to information, while at the same time they are giving the researchers “cover” for sharing secrets.

Made a pet food run this morning. Salt was on the list but forgot it. Of course, it likely wasn’t stocked. Asian condiments were on the list before the virus started but HEB only had two of just a few of those which is normal in Venezu-Texas. Did get the 8 cans of 2 for 1 sale chili on the shelf.
My son is supposed to go through a very busy airport that has six flights a day from China for work.
I hope he gets back okay and doesn’t get sick or stuck somewhere because of this.
I’m hoping it turns out to be a nothing burger like all the other flu scares we’ve had in recent years. I’m going to brace myself but avoid panic.
