it’s a pandemic ?

I think we have a way to go, but don't totally believe a 100 years after the 1918 flu disaster we would quickly handle a flu pandemic. - Tom

from the CDC-:
If a severe pandemic, such as occurred in 1918 happened today, it would still likely overwhelm health care infrastructure, both in the United States and across the world.

Businesses and schools would struggle to function, and even basic services like trash pickup and waste removal could be impacted. snip...

It’s like a zombie apocalypse. Doesn’t matter how advanced you are, if there are enough “infected” people you will be overwhelmed.

Here's an interesting tidbit I came across on twitter. The numbers, if true, are quite different than what most of the media is reporting.

#Wuhan has more than 25,000 confirmed cases & more than 43,000 infections, according to Hong Kong researchers. They claim that confining Wuhan does not stop the #coronavirus. They expect major epidemics in major Chinese cities by April / May 2020#nCoV2019pic.twitter.com/7nF7SzHESK— ISCResearch (@ISCResearch) January 27, 2020
