Power inverters are useful for running small things. They make bigger ones now something around 2800-3000 watts. I’m lucky here, after the ice storm I just posted about National Grid, our power company here, came through with an arborist and cut down all the bad trees threatening the lines. Haven’t lost power since. Despite that I still plan on getting a 10,000 watt portable generator and having a line run from my shed 150 feet to the house to a transfer switch, which will run the entire house. I will never go through that again.
