Most excellent program.

All my dogs have been rescue dogs from the pound or someone that was going to take a dog to the pound. Without exception they have been good dogs.

My last rescue dog named Leo was from the pound. My older dog had passed away and we needed a new dog to keep our younger dog company.

My wife went to the pound and this half golden retriever and I think German Shepard just looked at her with sad eyes and was really saying, “why am I here? Take me home please.”

She did. Leo was at home for two days and then escaped from my poorly made fence. I looked for him for hours and just said the hell with it. About sundown I opened the front door and there was Leo. It was like he was saying, “I know where things are good.”

Cost of dog from pound for the shots. $25
Cost of large new fence about 5 grand. It was a good deal all around.

The moment Leo knew this was his home, he was perfect. He is actually very gentle and loving nor aggressive. However, if someone tried to harm my wife or me he would be 95 lbs of jaws and pain.

Dogs are smart.

Yeah, my Thena is 18 now. I should send her to college. She was a shelter rescue. Spoiled! Spoiled rotten! :)
