I haven’t found better than mediocre brisket in NC. Most places don’t even serve it. Where did you find better? (That’s primarily what Salt Lick is about, so I assume you don’t mean pulled pork.)
My favorite NC came from Pete Jones. Sam Jones too. What’s yours?
The place called BBQ Joe’s does a nice brisket, tender with a good smoke flavor. I usually prefer to get mine with sauce on the side. I don’t think I’ve ever had brisket from there when it was dried out
There’s a new place called Black Smoke Shack but I haven’t tried their brisket yet.
