Vaquero, I’m curious as to why you think Saturn is not also a contributor. Is it because of the distance. Although next in order from Earth, it is still a lot farther out there than Jupiter. (These distances are stunning, really. But, minuscule in the scheme of the universe.)

Never mentioned gas giant #2. But of course anything that big is going to stir the pot. And a resonance of Saturn and Jupiter caused some incredible changes in the early solar system. the two giants together might have even tossed the proposed 9th planet (planet X) into a distant orbit that we can’t see. But it’s seems to be effecting the solar system now and scientists are currently searching for it.

So much we DON’T know.
