Irritability and aggression. There have been case reports of patients developing severe irritability and aggression associated with the use of statins. This has been reported but it is rare.

Memory loss. Concerns have been raised about cognitive dysfunction and memory loss associated with statin use. However, a review of reports to the FDA up to 2002 found only 60 reports of patients who had memory loss associated with statins.

Sorry, but you believe statins are always innocuous you are a fool.

Statins also are known to lower testosterone which can have major cascading effects on men.

Get better informed and you will learn.

I know three people who I am very close to and interact with daily. I can tell when they start taking statins and I can tell when they stop. When they start, they get stupid and forgetful and it goes away when it stops. All of them.

My wife was one and it also gave her fuzzy head and leg aches. She tried all of them and finally gave up. It is scary when they forget things from the day before or things you’ve both agreed upon.

I will never take them. My father in law takes them and he’s getting forgetful, but he’s 85, so there is that.

60 patients out of millions is statistically significant only to those 60 patients. I’m sure you’re aware that when drug trials are conducted, ANY symptom the trial participants develop, must be included in that drug’s list of side effects. Headache? Doesn’t matter if it was caused by a screaming toddler or a knock on the head, if a participant experiences it while on the drug trial, it must be documented as a side effect. That’s why some “side effects” are listed in such small numbers in the drug information.
Having said that, there are always going to be some people who react badly to a drug. Some of us are truly put together differently than most. And some people are very suggestable.

I never said any drug was ALWAYS innocuous. What I said is that statins have been around a long time and while some people do have side effects there is no mass side effects for the vast majority.

Stupid, ignorant Scientology like articles like this cause some people NOT to take life saving medicine because they believe everything they read on the internet regardless of how stupid and false the article is.
