If the Senate can legally reject Schiff as the impeachment manager, they should do so. He needs to be a witness, or at least have his part in the dishonest impeachment inquiries be exposed.

Am just reminded of something dad said when Roberts rules the way he did on Obamacare. Dad who really knew federal law said that Roberts rule was right: it threw the problem back to congress who at the time refused to solve it. That it wasn’t up to the judicial branch to correct legislative errors.
He also said that by making that decision it would free him to make a positive political decision for the republicans in the future as he could comeback and say “see I’m not political”.

I really think if the R's put some effort into it, my district (CA48) would flip back red & several others as well. Just my feeling, I don't have any actual knowledge (proven daily right here).
Maybe the Senate could call every witness that the Dems had during the impeachment hearings. Then allow only firsthand evidence, NO hearsay. It would be the shortest trial ever and demonstrate how phony the entire impeachment inquiry was.

Speaking of actual Republicans, hard to say what Robert’s is.
He has just made his way to the Senate chamber and is awaiting the swearing in.
He is mainly ornamental.

Of course. PDJT announced the meeting to sign the China trade deal last week. Thus evil Pelosi scheduled her impeachment ceremonies for the same time. This gave the 95% of the news media reason to omit almost any mention of the China trade deal. When they did mention it, they probably used some snarky comments on it. If it turns out to be wildly successful they won’t report that either.
