I believe if the President pardons Flynn there is no reason for an appeal and one would likely NOT be granted.
IF the President commutes the sentence Flynn can still appeal and once his conviction is overturned he can then sue to recover damages AND his exceptional name.

The Presidents speech today reminded me of the inaugural address. He was concise and direct, no wasted words, with the military standing behind him. This symbolism and the dark to light at the beginning matched his words. A new day has dawned on America.
I think POTUS did said “previous administration” rather than 0b0la (I can’t type the fake name, my fingers won’t let me) because he could not stomach saying that name.
