I have said repeatedly that impeachment is a cudgel to beat Trump with, to get hime to tow their line.
Higher taxes, unlimted immigration, liberal judges, globalist, shut down US oil, climate change, etc, etc.
“Do what we want or we’ll transmit the articles and remove you tomorrow” is the implied threat.
Trump cannot be intimidated to comply with Democrats programs. He does not need to get along in the Presidency. He would allow himself to be removed before he would cave. There is not really much of anything that the Democrats can do now beyound what they are doing, holding up the “trial” so they can claim DJT is, in fact, impeached while not allowing the Senate to cancel that by acquittal Pelosi has also signaled that impeachment will be THE agenda of any Democrat House of Representatives when there is a Republican President. There is no more sting attached to the procedure.
