Michael, Michael, Michael. Just who ARE “good people”, in your estimation? This is just blunt and blind prejudice, stereotyping those with whom you have no affinity and attributing all the worst of motives to them.
People are not “like that”, and never were. Obviously, a failed parochial school education, in which all the wrong lessons were absorbed, as much in rebellion to the nuns as if there had been a real taskmaster drilling the lessons of apartness and alienation Michael has taken so to heart.
