I liked it even as a brat
I take it every few days to clear out my trunk lines ..still tastes awful...in fact I need a few tablespoons tonite
Thanks for reminding me...yuck
In the Mississippi delta old mojo or obeah practicing blacks would take the cobalt blue milk of magnesium glass bottles and hang them from trees they had painted white in their yards of shotgun houses
Stark coloring ....anyhow to ward off evil spirits and duppies
You might. Still find a few who practice it
My mother kept the Milk of Magnesia in the fridge, and she’d spoon it out to us kids. We also had Ex-Lax. I still remember her using the enema syringe with ivory soap to make us go. She probably got that idea from Dr. Spock.
I believe you might be referring to Castoria. Not castor oil. I believe it was a laxative. I do not remember hardly anything about growing up in central Illinois but I remember that taste. It wasn’t terrible though.
I remember a very bad tasting vitamin that was sold by Fuller Brush.
I remember it well and I think it was a multivitamin made by Squibb. It had a wonderful citrusy flavor. It was a treat every night right before bedtime.
Asbestos
we were given Maltexo, thicker than syrup...tasted nice though...
Bosco?
Vic’s Vapor Rub
With sugar mixed in for your cough
Metrecal - the metrecal for lunch bunch as I recall the adverts - was for weight loss.
Geritol was a pep up for older folks - geriatric - geritol. I think it may have
been advertised on the Lawrence Welk show.
Paregoric...powdered opium in tincture form....you get a tiny bit of morphine per dose. Got camphor and anise in it...ok as antidiarrheal but superseded by other antidiarrheals.can be used as Anti coughing...
Geritol?
I’ve been wondering if Bosco was still around...
That was my chocolate syrup of the 70’s.
Any luck?
How about going to bed with skunk grease smeared on your chest?
Still is per website for Bosco chocolate syrup......lots of competition out there...
