It happens all the time, and much worse than what she has described happens as well. I’m in an online women’s message board where women of all ages talk about lots of assorted subjects. One Canadian woman, age 20, described to me privately her experience. It was very similar and much worse. She couldn’t stand when they were done, and yet, the staff just about pushed her out of the clinic. She’s struggling with terrible guilt. She told me she had always thought of herself as being pro-choice, but now she doesn’t know any more. Nobody speaks of the psychological effects even on women who call themselves pro-choice.
