We had a cairn terrier. Best blend of all dog traits! Once we took him to a vet waiting room full of various huge dogs. Our little man conducted himself with dignity. One big dog ventured close to give ours a sniff. The vet asked the owner to reign in his dog saying, “Please back away. Don’t you know that’s a terrier?”
Seventeen years of complete devotion and intelligence. Lost him last summer and we still feel his protective presence when we enter the house. His ashes guard the front door... still.
Sorry for the slide. We miss him so much we can’t bear to get another dog.

We had a cairn too. Lost her at 12 years. Huge loss...my favorite of all my dogs. Highly recommend getting another
dog, for your sake. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

The only antidote is to get another dog. Been there, and have done that. No regrets, just happiness with this girl.
