The advantage of all of the artwork is that it rests my weary brain from too many words.
Many years ago I purchased a book from a junk shop. It was a history of the world, written in the 1800’s. The book was falling apart, but I was able to read the sections on the Crusades and Islam.
The narrative was very detailed, and was written in the same level of English that was used by Charles Dickens. The history gave a detailed narrative about each of the crusades, the participants on both sides, and the outcomes of each. Many mistakes were made, and many good Christians and Jews killed by the Crusaders.
