Just about all of the SPAM / SCAM / FRAUD calls I get come
from the area code of my personal cell phone number.

This is, of course, common practice by scammers and
spammers. (To spoof a call as coming from YOUR area code.)

I haven’t lived in that area code since forever, nor do I
expect any unknown callers from that area code.
(Nor am I listed there.)

I instantly answer those with “Oh Goody! Another SPAM SCAM
call! Gimme what you got!”

Only the automated computer voice ones even say a word, after that.

SPAM CALLS -

Sometimes I nicely ask “tell me YOUR mother’s number so I can annoy her and tell her what a shite you are..”

I instantly answer those with “Oh Goody! Another SPAM SCAM call! Gimme what you got!”

I have an MP3 of a fax machine answering cued up all the time. I just start that and hold the phone to the speaker.
