Media Attack on John Solomon Is an Attack on the Free Press

At the time of the American founding, the press had been both a target of monarchical tyranny and a catalyst for revolutionary sentiment. James Madison rightly hailed it as “one of the great bulwarks of liberty.” The framers of the First Amendment, not content to protect free speech, jealously guarded the freedom of the press from the new Congress.

But today the free press is under threat not primarily from government overreach but from a dangerous lack of integrity in the media itself. Nothing illustrates this new threat to the freedom of the press like the media’s concerted effort to destroy investigative journalist John Solomon.

Now a Fox News contributor, Solomon has built a long resume and an illustrious career over three decades in investigative journalism. He’s worked everywhere from left-leaning new media like The Daily Beast to established outlets like the Associated Press and The Washington Post. And his investigative reporting has won numerous awards, such as the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Raymond Clapper Memorial Award, the Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi award for his work on a CBS News “60 Minutes” project, “Evidence of Injustice.”

But Solomon has suddenly became the target of an unprecedented, coordinated hit job by his fellow journalists. Talking Points Memo accused Solomon of “pedd[ling]” “false claims.” MSNBC called his reporting “fan fiction.” Former Clinton adviser and Washington Post reporter Sidney Blumenthal tarred Solomon as the “chief propagator” of “a disinformation campaign.” The Washington Post said he “advanc[ed] a flawed, Trump-friendly tale of corruption in Ukraine.” Vox proclaimed that “Solomon’s ‘journalism,’ particularly on the subject of Ukraine, has been proven to be false, repeatedly.”

BACKSTORY Sid Blumenthal was banned from US govt employment by Obama (although some think this is another of St Obama’s holier-than-thou ruses).

But at the same time Blumenthal was pushing Secy of State Clinton to all-out war in Libya, suck-up Sid was privately pushing his business interests WRT contracts with the "new" Libyan government — a government that would exist only after US military intervention in Libya that deposed Qaddafi.

ITEM--Blumenthal was engaged in massive conflicts of interest since he was simultaneously (a) being paid by The Clinton Foundation, (b) paid by Hillary's 2016 PAC organizers, and, (3) paid by businesses w/ interests in Libya.

If Secy Clinton knew all that, then her actions in circulating memos composed by Blumenthal were egregious. If she did not know, her recklessness is subject to US laws.

Blumenthal kept urging Hillary to bomb Libya b/c he had profit-making business interests predicated on a post-Khadaffi Libyan govt. <><> Sid cunningly used scare tactics----telling Hillary that Obama would lose reelection if the US didn't bomb Libya.

Amazingly, the obedient Hillary passed on this information to Obama.....did O know it came from a person he banned from govt employment?

Remember, the real Libyan scandal is how the US wound up bombing the troops of another United Nation's recognized government without a ‘by your leave’ from Congress.

Blumenthal is one of several people from the “old days” who is no longer visible. Like Valerie Jarrett, Samantha Powers, Cheryl Mills etc. I wonder why! Maybe they’re smart enough to keep their heads down but some of the more recent ones just keep yakking the same old garbage without a care in the world. Like McCabe. Have you caught him on CNN? It’s really funny to watch him - he discusses anything/everything to do with impeachment and the reports that have been issued as tho’ he’s discussing a foreign news story. Like his name never ever comes up in the mess!

And WHERE is Huma?
